Apple Nachos + Getting Active with Your Kids for FREE
Ok, so it’s cold out. Not just a little cold, but really cold. And during the kids Christmas vacation we didn’t get a lot of outdoor time since we had some unseasonably cold days… which meant more time indoors… with four kids… inside… with four kids… inside… I think you can understand what I’m getting at.
Four kids + inside for days = crazy!
Who’s with me? And honestly, I was starting to get a little antsy myself. On this particular day, heading out somewhere was not an option… so I decided to take some action and get us all burning a little energy and sharpen our focus a little more… that’s where kids yoga came in! I was searching youtube to find some kid-friendly yoga videos that we could all do and that’s when I discovered Cosmic Kids Yoga!

This is a good time to share… this is NOT sponsored. I have no affiliate links, no one has sponsored this post, and there is no money or goods coming from clicking any link in this post. I’m just sharing a total game changer in my house, and thought you would be interested too!
To date, the kids and I have completed the Frozen Yoga, Star Wars, and Moana. What I love about Cosmic Kids is the story keeps my littles engaged… and we’re always moving. There isn’t any real downtime which is nice because boredom doesn’t set in. Also, my two year old Hazel (who didn’t quite get what was going on) was trying to copy us on some of the moves and liked the special effects that happened during the videos. Each video ranges in length, so if you’re new and not sure how your kids will like it, I suggest trying the shorter videos. We have done the 30 minutes range and it seems to be perfect for the kids (and actually me too).
I threw on my stretchy pants and a t-shirt and got into it with them. I feel like while it wasn’t the most intense work out I’ve ever done, it was moving for 30 minutes, and it was spending some time with my kids (two things I try to achieve daily).
After we all gathered round the kitchen island for a quick and delicious snack!

Ingredients
- 4 Apples
- 4 tbsp Peanut Butter or any nut butter you prefer
- dash Cinnamon
- 4 tsp Mini Chocolate Chips dairy free if required
Instructions
- Slice apples thinly and arrange on four plates.Microwave peanut butter until runny (about 30 seconds). Pour over apple slices.
- Sprinkle each plate with a little cinnamon, and 1 tsp of mini chocolate chips (if using).
Easy, healthy, and kid friendly… plus it feels like a total treat when you have cut up apples and melty delicious peanut butter!

As the colder weather is still coming, this is my kind of energy burning activity that requires literally no effort to put together last minute if need be. But on the warmer winter days, I will strap Clodagh to me, and go snow shoeing (while pulling Hazel in a sleigh… then nap time ha ha ha), take the kids for walks around a neighbourhood close to where we live, and I signed the youngest two up for swimming lessons (with my moms help) on Monday mornings.
What do you do to survive the ‘cold crazy’ kids that appear after being locked inside too long? I would love to hear in the comments below! Also let me know if you know of any other kids activity/yoga videos I should be using!

What a great idea to keep the kids busy! They do get a lot of energy built up when they can’t go outside and blow off some steam! They apples look so good, I want them!!
The winters here can be so unpredictable, so it’s nice having s backup plan!!
Oh wow, these look so delicious and the perfect snack, not only for kids but for adults too. And apples have so many health benefits!
Apples with nut butter (or sunbutter) is always a great snack. I’ve never thought of heating the butter. That sounds delicious!
It’s delicious melted and so you get little bites of chocolate all over
My kids would go crazy for these! So fun!
I cannot fathom 4 kids stuck in the house for an extended period — you must be Wonder Woman! Great idea on movies and healthy-ish snacks!
The Yoga was great!
