Top 30 now That I’m 30: Dinner’s Ready!
So news flash: I’m still 30! Ha ha ha! Lucky me! But in all seriousness, I’m actually here today to keep going with my TOP 30 Now that I’m 30. To help keep things light (and delicious), I thought I would break it into three separate posts… 10 of my favourites based on course. So if you’re looking for some delicious morning meal ideas, head make sure you see my Breakfast & Lunch Edition here.
But now… the main event! I love dinnertime. I love sitting around our table and chatting about our day, or taking an extra long dinner on weekends and enjoying a full dinner with coffee and dessert after and lots of laughter. It’s one of the BEST ways to spend a Saturday night in my books!
So come and get it because here are my Top 10 favourite dinner recipes!
Ok so to start things off I should mention that I’m back to work… which means I need delicious, home cooked and healthy meals ready on the table in a pinch… three hungry girls does not work well… so making a big batch of sauce is always an easy way to keep meals easy. I use my Big Batch Meat Sauce for spaghetti sauce, in my Loaded Lasagna Boats… whatever you need meat sauce for. And it freezes amazingly!
Next up, a total crock pot favourite – especially in the winter months. Wish I could take all the credit, but I can’t… Thanks Mom! ‘Cuz it’s Not Your Mama’s Chilli.
Crock pots… they are little life savers! And there are so many ways to use them! This amazing
Baja Chicken Taco recipe from Amanda at The Skinny Fork could easily be on the menu every week. It’s light but full of flavour and I love eating it in the middle of winter we all start to feel a little full of heavy dinners.
Thinking of lighter, we all tend to enjoy salads for dinner providing there’s a good base for protein. Now talk about quick… bagged salad. Yes I said it. An easy weeknight dinner comes from bagged salad in this delicious Asian Inspired Salad. Think lime, crunchy wontons, sesame seeds and chicken skewers.
Oh and I can’t forget this amazing treat! I’m actually making it for dinner this weekend! These
Twice-Baked Sweet Potatoes have a tex-mex flare with cheese, corn, black beans. Top with avocado & cilantro and you can easily turn this into a side, main dish, and reheat for lunch the next day! Win-Win-Win if I do say so myself!
As i’ve said before, I wish I could claim every favourite as my own, but alas, I just can’t! A huge inspiration for dinner time in our house is Gina from Skinnytaste. Her recipes are delicious, healthy and perfect for our ever-growing family. This Baked Chicken with Dijon and Lime is a must make! Everyone loves it and it’s so easy to turn your bland chicken into an amazing, mouth watering main dish!
A little sweet, a little spicy, and oh so amazing. Clint, the kids and I absolutely love these amazing
Chilli-Lime Chicken Skewers. The best part? You don’t have to grill them. Baking them in the oven will still lock in the flavour (and may be a little easier now that we’re heading in the cooler months).
I mentioned earlier that I’m back to work. So I’m all about cooking once and getting as many meals out of that as I can. In fact I have a series of recipes based around that very idea that you can find here.
One of my favourite trios that I created was using Mexican Style Chicken and creating these fantastic Chicken Burrito Bowls!
Looking to add to an already stellar meal? This Delicious Broccoli Salad takes mere moments to prepare and mixes up your typical lettuce salad. Everyone will enjoy this side dish, and it saves well for lunch the next day!
And lastly (but certainly not least), my final pick for our dinnertime round up is this amazing
Apple & Roasted Butternut Squash Soup. There is nothing better on a cool night then enjoying a delicious bowl of home made soup, and now that fall is upon us, these flavours will just melt your insides!
Thank you so much for stopping in today! What are your dinnertime must-haves? I would love to know!
I love all your choices!! My favorite is the lime chicken with rice!! Rice and meat are such a perfect combination of flavors!!!
What a great collection of dinner recipes. Perfect for making large batches for great leftovers too.
You’ve just reminded me (like a million other things have today!) that my thirties are going to end, soon. Like.. in a matter of weeks. Ack! Gorgeous recipes here!
Well early Happy Birthday and thanks for stopping by!
What a lovely roundup! I have another year before I hit 30! Oh how I’m dreading it! 🙁
Honestly, I don’t feel different at all. It wasn’t the huge leap it sounds like 🙂
Many good ideas here. Love the comfort!!!
