Kim’s M&M Rice Krispy Treats
Hi everyone! Man what a week it’s been around here already – and no Hazel still hasn’t made a appearance… it’s driving this mama a little batty. On the bright side, I am getting lots of small things done around the house, and organizing. Making freezer meals is definitely a huge help and will be perfect for when she comes, and I need to feed Clint and kids quickly (or I forgot to make a meal and this is better then ordering in). PLUS I’m working on a new series coming to the blog shortly… so stay tuned for that!
In saying all of this, today I want to highlight one of my fellow Foodie Mamas! Kim from Feed Me, Seymour has stopped in today to share with us her M&M Rice Krispy Treat. This awesome recipe will be perfect to make a batch for back to school for the kids since it’s almost time for them to head back (where did summer go?!?!). With out further delay I give you Kim…

When it comes to desserts, there is none more quintessential than the rice krispy treat. It holds an important place in the sweets hierarchy. And in recent years, it has taken on a new form, elevating from standard to high-end. Filled with such creativity and any number of ingredients, rice krispy treats are in a category all their own.
As creative as you can be, the M&M Rice Krispy Treat will always be my favorite. Fluffy marshmallow, crispy rice cereal and a bit of chocolate really get me going!
Recipe:
- 6 cups rice krispy cereal
- 40 large marshmallows
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 1 cup M&M candies
Spray a glass baking dish with non-stick spray. In a large sauce pan, heat butter. Once melted, add in the marshmallows. Stir until the marshmallows are completely melted. Working quickly, add in the cereal and stir well until all the cereal is coated in marshmallows. Using a spatula, place the mixture in the baking dish and push down to even out. Sprinkle the candies on top and use your fingers to push them in. Allow to sit for at least an hour before slicing.

I wish I had some of these right now. When I was a child I thought Rice Krispie Treats were Heaven on Earth, and I am still a pretty big fan!
I had no idea it was so easy to add M&M’s to Rice Krispie Treats! I will definitely try it! It is a great, quick snack when I have to take something to a gathering.
