Fuchsia Freezer: Book Club

Hi there! Today I thought I would share another part of my life, another passion if you will: Books – lots and lots of books. I’m part of a monthly book club around where I live and I love it. We meet up discussing a pre-selected book that one of us chose. We have read a little bit of everything, but try to stay away from fictional romance or chick-lit since both don’t typically have a lot to discuss afterward. Outside of that I continue to read as much as I can. I have about a 40 minute commute to work each way daily (on the city bus) which allows me to read as much as I can. My goal for 2015 is to read 40 books, and the good news is 12 of them are pretty much a guarantee since I have my existing book club. I thought that I would extend this love of reading with you.

The inspiration came from my latest (and greatest) read, Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. I really wanted to share with you how much I’m enjoying this novel, and naturally a book review came to light. Think…. The Hunger Games meets Divergent. I have read both series and loved them. When I heard about this, it was just the next thing to read!

I’m always looking for suggestions. I love romance, thrillers, historical fiction, chick-lit, teen dramas… anything that tells a good story (fiction or not). The Fuchsia Freezer Book Club is more than just a cookbook review. It’s about discovering new and interesting authors, along with getting caught up in a good book, and sharing with you my thoughts.

We about are half way through April, and I will post my first review at the end of the month about Red Queen. Between now and then though, I’m looking for a new book to read and review for May. Any and ALL suggestions are welcomed! Maybe we can read May’s book together? To help, here is a list of what I have read in 2015 thus far…
1. All I Want is You by Martina Reilly

2. Don’t Be A Stranger by A.R. Winters

3. Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin

4. Something Blue by Emily Giffin

5. Baby Proof by Emily Giffin

6. When Girlfriends Break Hearts by Savannah Page

7. War of the Wives by Tamar Cohen

8. White Wedding by Milly Johnson

9. The 100 Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and disappeared by Jonas Jonasson

10. [Currently Reading] Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

The suggestions and possibilities are endless and I would love to hear from you. If you’ve ready any from the above list, comment and let me know! If you have any ideas, please share them! Email me at fuchsiafreezer@gmail.com or find me on Facebook! I can’t wait to see what happens, and hopefully you will be able to join me for the ride!
Thanks again for joining me, and I look forward to chatting with you!

Cheers xo
